Last year volunteers donated nearly 60,000 hours of their time and talents to various not-for-profit organizations in Washington County. Serving as a clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities in the county, the Washington County Commission on Aging places volunteers in service to schools, nursing homes, libraries, law enforcement agencies, literacy and tutoring programs, theaters, and museums, as well as many other areas.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program offers insurance coverage, recognition, and reimbursement for travel for those volunteers who are 55 years of age and older. You're welcomed to download and review a copy of RSVP Volunteer Handbook 2017 and RSVP Reimbursement and sign in form. Volunteers under the age of 55 are most welcomed as well, but are not eligible for benefits.
If you are interested in volunteering at the WCCOA or at one of many other organizations where assistance is needed, please call us at 301-790-0275, email Susan Hurd: RSVP 2017 Volunteer Application and Background checks.
