Senior Assisted Living Group Home Subsidy Program

There are currently five (4) Senior Assisted Living Group Homes in Washington County. Currently, the maxium monthly subsidy payment to the provider is $650.00. The Senior Assisted Living Group Home Subsidy Program provides financial assistance to residents 62 years of age or older who meet income guidelines. The subsidy program is based on income, medical expenses and the availability of funds. An Adult Evaluation Representative from the Washington County Health Department AERS Program conducts an assessment on each resident applying for subsidy to make sure the resident qualifies physically. The maximum subsidy payment per month is $650.00, and is paid directly to the provider from the Washington County Commission on Aging on behalf of the resident. Each group home provider is monitored on a quarterly basis to confirm that they are operating in compliance with COMAR state regulations and one on one visits are conducted with residents to ensure they are receiving adequate care. Quarterly reports are sent to the State Office on Aging and re-applications are completed annually for eligibility requirements for the upcoming new year.

For additional information, contact Deloris Bitner at the Washington County Commission on Aging, 301-790-0275, ext. 216
