As part of the National Family Caregiver Support Program, a support group for Grandparents who are raising their grandchildren was started on May 4, 2005. The group meets at 10:00 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at The Washington County Commission on Aging offices.

There are nearly 1000 grandparents in Washington County who are raising their grandchildren. This group will receive information about community resources which are available to them and will have the opportunity to share pleasures and concerns relative to their grandchildren.
