Senior Center February Calender 2012- (PDF)
On September 2, 2008, Washington County's first multi-service senior center opened its temporary location* at Girls Inc. This innovative partnership sponsored by the County Commissioners seeks to use space efficiently while building on intergenerational opportunities. A multi-service senior center is a dynamic, accessible facility that offers a variety of classes, programs and activities designed to provide a focal point for active, vibrant older persons.
The direct line at Girls Inc. is (301) 671-2368. Kathy Fisher is the Senior Center at Girls Inc. manager. Additional information is also available from the main office of the Commission on Aging (301) 790-0275. Volunteers are always welcome.
A light meal is offered at the Café, and the coffee pot is usually on! So drop by 626 Washington Ave., between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday-Friday (there's lots of parking) to see for yourself.
*Community leaders are partnering with the Commission on Aging for a large (20,000+ square foot) permanent senior community center in Washington County.
